Sports Facilities in Chiyoda

Chiyoda Sports Center

This gymnasium is equipped with a variety of equipment and facilities. While open to the public, the hours of operation for individuals or groups differ. Chiyoda residents can use this gymnasium free of charge on the third Sunday of every month.
Main Facilities: The central arena (for basketball, volleyball, etc.), indoor heated pool, table tennis, archery, judo, kendo, sumo and training rooms.
Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Closed: The third Monday and during the New Year holidays
Individual Use: For a Chiyoda resident to use the facilities, he/she must show his/her Gymnasium Resident Use Card (apply for the card at the gymnasium office by showing your foreign residents’ registration card or other documents which confirm your address). Then buy an admission ticket on the day you want to use the facility.
Fees: Times for use are divided into morning, afternoon and evening. Fees are set as follows: ¥200 for Chiyoda residents who are in senior high school or older (¥350 for those who work or go to school in Chiyoda), and ¥100 for elementary and junior high school students (¥150 for those who attend these schools in Chiyoda).
Swimming Pool: The hours for the indoor heated pool vary by the month and day. The pool can be used freely for a two-hour period.
Fees for each period are set as follows: ¥400 for Chiyoda residents who are in senior high school or older (¥600 for others including those who work or go to school in Chiyoda), ¥300 for each additional hour, and ¥200 for Chiyoda residents who are in pre-school, elementary and junior high school (¥300 for others including those who go to school in Chiyoda), ¥150 for each additional hour.


Sotobori Park Sports Ground

This sports ground has tennis courts and a field for baseball and sports events. The baseball field is designed for hardball, while the tennis courts are for both soft- and hard balls. Both baseball and tennis facilities are equipped for night games. Applications for use are chosen by lottery after sending a return postcard. Notification of the results will be made by postcard. When Using the Baseball Field (April-December)

Hours: Rented by 2-hour units; lighting is available from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. (3-hour unit) from April through October.
Fees: ¥2,200 per hour on Monday through Friday, ¥2,700 per hour on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. An additional ¥1,500 per hour is charged for use of lighting facilities

When Using Tennis Courts

Hours: Rented by 2-hour units for one or two courts; lighting is available from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. (3-hour units) from April through October.
Fees: ¥1,500 per hour for a court and an additional ¥500 per hour required for use of lighting facilities.


Iki-iki Plaza Ichibancho

Mainly offering services for senior citizens, this comprehensive facility with various activities for cultural community events and health services also has an indoor heated pool.
Closed: The last Sunday of the month and during the New Year holidays.
Heated Pool Use: From 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. on a two-hour basis. Fees for each period are set as follows: ¥400 for Chiyoda residents who are in senior high school or older (¥600 for others including those who work or go to school in Chiyoda) and ¥200 for Chiyoda residents who are in elementary and junior high school (¥300 for others including those who go to school in Chiyoda).


Chiyoda Parkside Plaza

An indoor heated pool located in a nearby elementary school is open to the public throughout the year, except when being used by the school.
Closed: The third Sunday, national holidays and during the New Year holidays.
Hours (Individual Use): From 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (can be used freely for a two-hour period)
Fees: ¥400 for each time period for Chiyoda residents including high school students (¥600 for others including those who work or go to high school in Chiyoda), and ¥200 for elementary and junior high school students living in Chiyoda (¥300 for those who attend other schools in Chiyoda). When Chiyoda residents want to use the swimming pool, they should obtain the “Resident Use Ticket” beforehand.


Shohei Domu-kan

The elementary school rooftop schoolyard and gymnasium and the children’s center playroom and meeting room are available for group use, while the heated pool is available for individual use, during the hours in which each particular facility is not being used by the school or other institutions.
Hours: 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on school holidays (throughout the year)
Closed: The second Sunday, during the New Year holidays and other designated days.


Kanda Sakura-kan

The elementary school schoolyard and gymnasium are available for group use, while the heated pool is available for individual use, during the hours in which the school is not using them.
Closed: The third Sunday, during the New Year holidays and other designaged days

Kojimachi Elementary School

Address: 2-8, Kojimachi, Tel: 3263-3831
This complex of buildings can be used for various community programs and learning activities when it is not being used for regular school.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.; and 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on school holidays (the school yard is open until 9:00 p.m.).
Closed: The second Sunday, during the New Year holidays and on other designated days.

Yumenoshima East Children’s Baseball Field

Location: Yumenoshima, Koto-ku
The two children’s baseball fields located here are limited for use by children’s teams whose members consist of elementary and junior high school students who live or go to school in Chiyoda. The teams must be accompanied by an adult coach.

How to get there: A 15-minute walk from Shin-Kiba Station on the JR Line or the Yurakucho Subway Line.
Registration: After registering with the Chiyoda Gymnasium, submit the “Use Plan Ticket” by the 15th of the preceding month of intended use.
Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from April through October, and 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (units of 2-1/2 hours) from November through March
